Under Horse Sport Ireland’s breeding policy a 5* mare is one who has achieved two double clear rounds at CSI/CSIO4* level (Grand Prix or Nation’s Cup class or equivalent) to achieve the status on her own performance or have one progeny with two double clear rounds at CSI/CSIO3* level to achieve the status on her progeny performance.
Cummer Beauty's dam Ballahane has exceptional breeding with the highest quality TB bloodline. She is a grand-daughter of the 1962 English Derby winner Larkspur trained by the great Vincent O'Brien. Larkspur was a son of the Flat champion sire Never Say Die who in turn was a grandson of the phenomenal Nearco. Merlin, a son of Larkspur sired two horses and one of these was Ballahane who herself was out of ISH Cummer Judy.
